Presley also debuts on the Social 50 chart.
Lisa Marie Presley returns to the Billboard charts with “Storm & Grace,” which debuts on the LyricFind U.S. chart dated July 25 following the death of her son, Benjamin Keough, on July 12.
The LyricFind Global and LyricFind U.S. charts rank the fastest momentum-gaining tracks in lyric-search queries and usages globally and in the U.S., respectively, provided by LyricFind. The Global chart includes queries from all countries, including the U.S. The company is the world's leader in licensed lyrics, with data provided by more than 5,000 publishers and utilized by more than 100 services, including Amazon, Pandora, Deezer, Microsoft, SoundHound and iHeartRadio. The latest tracking week ended July 16.
“Storm & Grace,” the closing track from Presley’s 2012 album of the same name, was written about Keough (his middle name was Storm), vaulted in activity after the 27-year-old’s death; a YouTube upload of the song was among the top results when searching for his name there.
According to LyricFind, the song spiked 65,500% in lyric views in the 24 hours following the announcement of Keough’s death, bowing on LyricFind U.S. at No. 9. Additionally, the song drew 54,000 on-demand U.S. streams in the tracking week ending July 16, up 20,821% from a negligible amount in the previous period, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
Presley also starts at No. 21 on Billboard’s Social 50 chart, which measures social media activity in a tracking week ending July 16. (The Social 50 is powered by data tracked by music analytics company Next Big Sound and ranks the most popular artists on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Wikipedia. The chart's methodology blends weekly additions of friends/fans/followers with artist page views and engagement.)
Much of Presley’s social activity for the week came from Wikipedia, where her page saw 209,000 views, up 1,624%, according to Next Big Sound.
Keough died July 12 of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to Los Angeles authorities.
